The geography in one paragraph
Saona hangs off the southeast tip of the country inside Cotubanama National Park. The only departure port is Bayahibe, 75 minutes west of the Bavaro strip by road. Whatever option you pick below, it ends in the same place: a boat leaving that village between 8 and 9:30 am.
Option 1: the packaged tour (most travelers)

Option 2: taxi plus dock boat
A taxi from Bavaro to Bayahibe runs $60 to $80 each way. At the dock, seats on group boats sell from around $40 plus the park fee. The math only works for groups of three or more, and return taxis need pre arranging, the village empties by late afternoon.
Option 3: rental car to Bayahibe

Option 4: private charter door to door
